CORONA, CA – A local woman unexpectedly spent 30 minutes on the phone with the armed man who stole her boyfriend’s car as he led police on a chase through Orange and Los Angeles Counties Friday, according to a news report.
NBC Los Angeles reported that Joshua Ross was carjacked by the man at a Corona gas station. Ross’ girlfriend, Ananda Mallory, called her boyfriend’s phone – still in Ross’ pickup truck – as the carjacker fled Corona down the 91 Freeway and into the Downey area.
"I said, 'Hi babe,' and on the other end I hear an unfamiliar voice and they just tell me, 'Sorry, I had to take your boyfriend or husband's truck,'" Mallory told the TV station.
