LOS ANGELES, CA — Los Angeles Sheriff's investigators are searching for pranksters who egged a curbside mask vendor in South Los Angeles this week and recorded the attack.

The sheriff's department released video of the attack Monday in hopes that someone will come forward and identify the culprits. In the video, the attacker beckons the street vendor to his car window. He pretends to be interested in buying masks then chucks an egg point blank at the vendor. The attack occurred near Florence and Central avenues, and police suspect the pranksters are teens or young men.

The sheriff's department does not know when the incident occurred, but they believe the perpetrator shared the video on the internet in the past week, Deputy Juanita Navarro-Suarez of the Sheriff's Information Bureau said. Deputies need help identifying the suspect and the victim, and they encouraged anyone with information about the incident to call LA Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS.
