Dodgers Ink First-Ever Deal To Put A Corporate Name On Their Field: Report
It's the first deal of its kind in Dodger Stadium's 64-year history.
LOS ANGELES, CA — For the first time ever, the Dodgers are attaching a corporate sponsorship to the team's historic ballpark, according to a report.
The team has agreed to a deal with Tokyo-based clothing retailer Uniqlo, which will become Dodger Stadium's official field presenting partner, the Athletic reported.
The name of the actual stadium will not change — Uniqlo will hold the rights to the playing field, which will likely be named Uniqlo Field at Dodger Stadium, according to the report, which cited unnamed sources.

Uniqlo's deal comes following a surge in Japanese sponsorships for the team, which have already brought in an estimated $70 million since Japanese superstar Shohei Ohtani joined the team, Fox 11 reported.
The naming deal is expected to be officially announced shortly before Opening Day on March 26, when the Dodgers will host the Arizona Diamondbacks.
