Domino's Unveils Detroit-Style Pizza Made For One
The new personal pizza can be customized with sauce and up to three toppings.
Domino's is adding a new Detroit-style personal pizza to its menu nationwide this month, giving customers an option designed for one person.
The new pizza, called the Domino, will launch Aug. 31, according to the company.
Shaped like the pizza chain's red-and-blue logo, the rectangular pizza is cut into two slices and made with pan dough coated with Parmesan cheese. It is topped with two layers of cheese, a customer's choice of sauce and up to three toppings before being finished with Domino's garlic seasoning.

The company said the new offering is intended to give customers more flexibility when people sharing a meal want different toppings.
"The Domino fills a gap in our portfolio," Joe Jordan, chief operating officer and president of Domino's U.S. and incoming CEO, said in a statement. "When everyone wants something different, traditional pizza falls short. The Domino lets every person build the exact pizza they want."

Domino's said the pizza can also be ordered as part of its Mix and Match Deal, which allows customers to choose two or more qualifying menu items for $6.99 each. A two-topping Domino is included in the promotion.
Prices may be higher at some locations, according to the company.
Customers can order the new pizza beginning Aug. 31 through participating Domino's stores, the company's website or its mobile app.
