DUI Suspect Crashes Into Big Rig During SGV Pursuit

At least two people were arrested Monday after a high-speed police chase in the San Gabriel Valley that ended when the suspect crashed into a big rig, according to authorities.

The brief pursuit began at around 9:40 a.m. in Hacienda Heights, when deputies began to chase a suspect who was wanted for reckless driving or driving under the influence, according to a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department spokesperson.

The pursuit lasted around two minutes, before the suspect's vehicle collided with the side of a big rig at the intersection of Valley Boulevard and Ardilla Avenue in La Puente.

The suspect and a passenger were briefly trapped in their vehicle after the crash, according to Fox 11, which published images of the collision's aftermath.

The pair were taken into custody following the pursuit.
