Former L.A. Councilman and Community Leader Dave Cunningham died
Mr. Cunningham was elected to the Los Angeles City Council in 1973.
Born June 24, 1935, Mr. Cunningham was a business executive who was elected to the Los Angeles City Council in 1973 to succeed then-Councilmember Tom Bradley, who had been elected mayor that year. He represented the 10th district until 1987, when he resigned.
Cunningham senior was the father of David S. Cunningham III, a Los Angeles Superior Court judge and a former president of the Los Angeles Board of Police Commissioners.
