The historic baseball field was build in the '30s with a wooden frame grandstand, according to the City of Ontario's website. It has been featured in several Hollywood films, including the 1992 film "A League of Their Own" starring Tom Hanks, Madonna, Rosie O'Donnell and Geena Davis.

A GoFundMe was created by Ontario Eastern Little League to fund reconstruction on the park.

"Jay Littleton Ball Park was unfortunately destroyed by a fire on the evening of August 22," the GoFundMe said. "This historic ballpark was built in 1937 and stood as a pillar of the baseball community in Southern California since then."
