In 2017, Mohr became a leader in the SPARK LA program, a collaboration between HNTB and the Los Angeles Board of Public Works. In its second year at Los Angeles Unified School District’s all-girls school – the Girls Academic Leadership Academy, Dr. Michelle King School for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math – SPARK LA helps support the school’s STEM curriculum, which aims to attract more female students to pursue degrees and professions where females traditionally are underrepresented.
“Laura is a talented professional who engages and inspires students with opportunities that challenge them to think critically and build on their leadership skills, so they focus their education to take advantage of the market that awaits them in STEM-related fields,” said Art Hadnett, West Division president, HNTB. “Laura is developing the next generation of STEM leaders. This honor reinforces that she is making a difference in the lives and careers of countless young females and serves as an excellent role model for all professional women.”
