L.A.County Arts Accepting Summer Intern Applicants
The Los Angeles County Arts paid internships offer college students opportunities in theater, dance, multimedia, film and social justice.
LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CA — Applications are underway for this summer's LA County Arts Internship Program, the largest such program nationwide, focused on university and community college students pursuing careers in arts and culture.
The program will accept 228 students for the paid internships, offering on-the-job experience at more than 140 nonprofit organizations centered on theater, dance, multimedia, film and social justice, officials said.
"As Los Angeles County’s creative economy begins to rebound from COVID-19 impacts, we need to stay committed to sustainable recovery programs and creative workforce development initiatives. The Arts Internship Program checks both boxes," said Holly J. Mitchell, chair of the Los Angeles County board of supervisors.

Current undergraduate students, as well as students graduating between May 1 - Dec. 1, are eligible to apply. All applicants must be currently enrolled in a community college or four-year university. Applicants also must be residents of or attending schools located in Los Angeles County, and cannot be previous participants of the program, directors said.
Students may apply online here. New positions are announced at the beginning of each month through July 2022.
An LA County companion program, the Getty Marrow Undergraduate Internship Program, also is providing internships with museums and visual arts organizations, where students can build professional skills and connections while completing projects in education, marketing, graphic design, fundraising, production and more, organizers said.
"For over 20 years, the Arts Internship Program has built career pathways for diverse young people including many who face barriers to creative jobs in LA County," LA County Department of Arts and Culture director Kristin Sakoda. "The program connects students to salaries, real-world experience and job skills, provides an inside understanding of the arts ecosystem, and expands access with a cultural equity and inclusion lens."
