Major Freeway Closure | Powerful Storm | Horse Rescue | SoCal In Brief
Took a break from the news this weekend? Worry not: we've rounded up some of the stories you missed in SoCal on Saturday and Sunday.

LOS ANGELES, CA — As the weekend wraps, we've rounded up some of the stories you may have missed Saturday and Sunday to prepare you for Monday.
But before we jump into Southern California’s top stories: SoCal is bracing for a powerful storm led by an atmospheric river that could dump up to six inches of rain on the area over a span of three days. The storm is expected to bring a wet week to much of the Golden State.
That’s likely going to make things even harder for the Greater LA region, which is reeling from the indefinite closure of a large part of the 10 Freeway near Downtown LA following a huge storage yard fire that badly damaged a freeway overpass. Governor Newsom declared a state of emergency and visited the site alongside Mayor Karen Bass, who promised a “24/7” operation and help from the White House to get the freeway reopened as quickly as possible.

Catching up on other weekend news: A hangar fire reignited at the former Tustin Air Base not long after remains of an earlier fire tested positive for asbestos, leading to an emergency declaration in Orange County. Cities all over the Southland honored Veterans Day with parades, including a particularly large one in the San Fernando Valley. And out in Riverside County, firefighters rescued a horse that fell into a canal.
