Classic cars are like time machines that transform observers into adventurers experiencing the magic of time travel. The history attached to a classic vehicle imparts a specific noble gravity, reminding us of how much things have changed.

It doesn’t need to cost a fortune for the average person to experience this magic. A lot of classic cars were ordinary in their time, meaning that many are still pleasantly affordable. The vast majority of these classic cars are nowhere near as costly as the handful of top specimens seen on television.

1965-1970 Ford Mustang

Ford built over a million Mustangs in the first two years of production and never looked back. What that means for someone in the market for a classic car is that there is no shortage of great examples at great prices.

The high-value cars are mainly the results of statistical anomalies. The majority of average Mustangs, even those with V8 power, are pretty affordable. The fact that Mustangs had such high production means there is no shortage of parts or other owners to connect with.

1966-1980 MG MGB and Triumph TR6

There’s nothing like a classic English sports car to make driving fun. The MGB had a large four-cylinder with over 140 horsepower. There was a six-cylinder, closed coupe version called the MGB-GT. The TR6 was a brutish little car with a high winding six-cylinder under the hood. There was a special coupe version of the TR6 as well, although the GT6 borrowed its nose styling more from the Spitfire than from the TR6.

Supercar Replica Kit

The next step up from the feel of a small, enthusiast sports roadster like the MGB is the so-called supercar. There is an entire industry based on replicating these cars in detail and providing them in kit form. Probably the most sought after kit of this type is based on the AC Cobra. Nowadays, a recent model of Mustang can donate its powertrain and suspension, allowing buyers to assemble one of these cars in their own garages.

This allows the owner to control every detail of production, every aspect of a new custom build that's like no other car.
