According to the Los Angeles Police Department, who are not medically trained, performed dangerous cosmetic procedures on several patients.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A mother and daughter are facing murder charges for allegedly performing an illegal butt augmentation surgery in Encino with no medical training, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Their patient, Karissa Rajpaul, a 26-year-old Encino woman looking to become an adult film actress, later died from the surgery, according to police.

Libby Adame, 51, and her daughter Alicia Galaz, 23, were arrested Aug. 5th on suspicion of murder, said LAPD Officer Lizeth Lomeli. The pair were arrested in Riverside and await court hearings on murder charges.

Now authorities are asking other potential victims to come forward. The pair is believed to have operated on other patients who may have suffered disfigurement or worse, according to the LAPD.

Rajpaul, a native of South Africa, reportedly underwent multiple procedures with the pair before she died. According to NBC Los Angeles, Rajpaul had undergone three procedures with the pair over the course of several weeks and posted a video of one buttocks augmentation to her social media account in September of 2019. Less than a month later, she was dead.

“On Oct. 15, 2019, the victim had an outlaw buttocks augmentation procedure,” said Lomeli. “Shortly after the procedure, the victim died.”

According to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office, Rajpaul died at a hospital the same day of the procedure from acute cardiopulmonary dysfunction caused by intramuscular/intravascular silicone injections.

"These individuals have no medical training," LAPD Deputy Chief Alan Hamilton told ABC7. They're not experienced and they're putting people's lives at risk...They were mixing them with chemicals and other substances that clearly are not appropriate for any medical procedure that would be performed on a human."

Adame was released from jail after posting $1 million bail, and her daughter was released on bond.
