Amber Alert Deactivated, Missing 4-Year-Old Found, Authorities Say (patch.com) — Los Angeles residents can breathe easier after authorities safely located a 4-year-old child whose disappearance triggered an Amber Alert across Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino and Orange counties. The child was last seen near West Manchester Avenue and Hoover Street in South Los Angeles with a 23-year-old man before the alert was deactivated Wednesday night.
   

2. Runaway pig Wilbur becomes West Hollywood celebrity, may soon be up for adoption (foxla.com) — Wilbur, the tiny black-and-white pig who sprinted through West Hollywood, is now safe at the West Los Angeles Animal Shelter on Pico Boulevard in Los Angeles. His owner has until Wednesday night to claim him, after which he'll be available for adoption to someone with a pig-suitable home. Neighbors who watched his escape are now rooting for him to find a safe, permanent home.
