• Lineage finishes food waste removal at Boyle Heights warehouse (laist.com) — Residents in Boyle Heights can finally breathe a bit easier as Lineage Logistics has finished removing the rotting food waste from the cold-storage warehouse that burned in June, after weeks of foul odors and thousands of air-quality complaints. The company now has seven days to clear debris and disinfect, while the L.A. City Council is moving to withhold rebuilding permits until a full fire investigation is completed.

• Council calls for report on regulating electric bicycles (wavepublication.com) — Los Angeles City Council is moving toward new rules on e-bikes, e-motos and electric mopeds, ordering a detailed report on safety, sales bans and rider education within 90 days. The motion cites rising local collisions and injuries, especially among teens. Riders could eventually face stricter standards on what devices are legal, where they can ride, and how batteries are stored and charged.

• Breaking: Domino Fire reported in Los Angeles County on Aug. 29 (sacbee.com) — A new Domino Fire wildfire has burned about 20 acres near 110th Street West in Antelope Acres, Los Angeles County, after being discovered Saturday afternoon. Officials have not yet released information on containment or cause. Residents in the northern county area should stay alert for updates from Cal Fire and local authorities as conditions can change quickly.
