Playa Vista CVS Pharmacy Evacuated Due To Haz Mat Leak
Customers and staff were evacuated from the building the pharmacy was shut down while the leak is investigated.
LOS ANGELES, CA — A CVS pharmacy in Playa Vista was evacuated Wednesday morning while the Los Angeles Fire Department investigated a hazardous material leak.
The business will remain closed into the afternoon until county inspectors evaluate the building, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Amy Bastman.
Shortly before 11 a.m. the fire department was called to the store at 12746 W Jefferson Boulevard due to a report of a chemical leak, she said.

"All customers and staff have been evacuated," Bastman said. "One person is being medically evaluated for an exposure."
Investigators are examining the store's freezer system as a potential source for the leak, Bastman said. However, they had not confirmed the cause as of 12:20 p.m.
