Rapper PnB Rock Killed During Robbery At Roscoe's

A gunman shot the artist as he dined with his girlfriend and then removed his jewelry from his body, according to police.

LOS ANGELES, CA — The Philadelphia rapper PnB Rock known for his hits “Fleek” and “Selfish,” was shot and killed during a robbery at the Roscoe's House of Chicken & Waffles in South Los Angeles Monday. His killer remained at large Tuesday.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the 30-year-old rapper whose real name is Rakim Hasheem Allen, was having lunch with a woman when a man walked up to the couple, pulled out a handgun and ordered PnB Rock's jewelry.

``The suspect shot the victim multiples times, removed property and then left the location in a getaway car," LAPD Capt. Kelly Muniz told reporters.

“It is a bold crime and it’s tragic that two people come to eat and enjoy their meal, and they’re get robbed while patronizing a restaurant,” Muniz told KTLA.

Police were called to the scene at 106 W. Manchester Ave. just before 1:30 p.m. Monday. Witnesses told police the suspect and the victim argued during the shooting, which was captured on the restaurant's video surveillance system.

Police closed Manchester Avenue in the vicinity of the shooting after the shooting and searched the immediate area for evidence and the getaway car.

The rapper was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, Muniz said.

According to TMZ, the rapper was with his girlfriend and the mother of his child, IG model Steph Sibounheuang, when the shooting occurred. He posted video of himself wearing expensive jewelry the day he was killed for his jewelry.

Pnb Rock was based in Los Angeles at the time of his death. He was known for his collaborations with the likes of Ed Sheeran, Chance the Rapper, Wiz Khalifa, and Young Thug.

Roscoe's posted about the shooting on the restaurant's Instagram account.

“We are deeply saddened by the death of Rakim Hasheem Allen, (also known as PnB Rock), an incredible artist in Los Angeles and everywhere. His passing represents an enormous loss to each and every one of us. Our most heartfelt condolences, thoughts, and prayers go to the Allen family at this difficult time," said the post. "The safety of our employees and guests are our utmost priority. We have and will continue to keep our place of business as safe as possible.”

Fans took to social media to mourn his death while others objected to the publication of a graphic video published by TMZ showing the artist bleeding at the murder scene before police arrived.

PnB Rock is survived by his two young daughters.
