SigAlert: Another Freeway Shooting Shuts Down LA County Freeway
The Artesia (91) Freeway shooting is the second of the day in Los Angeles County.
CARSON, CA — One person was injured in a freeway shooting in Carson, prompting the California Highway Patrol to issue a SigAlert for the Artesia (91) Freeway Tuesday morning. It was the second shooting on a Los Angeles County freeway Tuesday morning.
Investigators haven't said if they suspect a connection between the 91 Freeway shooting and a fatal Long Beach (710) Freeway earlier on the same day.
Authorities shut down the Avalon Boulevard offramp from the eastbound 91 Freeway in the Carson area, and the California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert expected to last until roughly noon.

The shooting was reported at about 10:30 a.m. on the eastbound 91 Freeway near the Avalon Boulevard off-ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol. The Los Angeles Sheriff's Department is on the scene investigating, said CHP Officer Peter Nicholson
Paramedics sent to the location on a report of a shooting took a person to a hospital for treatment of an unspecified injury, the Los Angeles County Fire Department reported. The victim's condition was not immediately available.

Hours earlier a man was shot and killed while on the 710 Freeway in the Cudahy area. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he died. The shooter was believed to be driving a black sedan in that case.
