SigAlert: Pedestrian Struck And Killed On Hollywood Freeway

Commuters were advised to avoid the area near Downtown Los Angeles after a pedestrian was struck by a car on the Hollywood (101) Freeway.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Morning traffic on the Hollywood (101) Freeway near downtown Los Angeles was backed up for miles after a driver struck and killed a pedestrian.

The crash occurred at about 5 a.m. on the southbound side of the freeway near Vermont Avenue, according to the California High Patrol. The CHP shut down several lanes for the investigation and issued a SigAlert, warning commuters to find alternate routes.

As of 8:30 a.m., traffic in the area remained a slog.
