SoCal 'King of Scratchers' Wins $20M

Another SoCal man, the self-proclaimed "King of Scratchers," won big after claiming the top prize on a Neon Cash Party game.

ORANGE COUNTY, CA — Two Southern California men just won big after getting lucky with scratch-off lottery tickets, the California Lottery announced.

Over the weekend, Orange County resident Raul Reyes Arreola was revealed as the big $20 million winner in its $30 "Set For Life" scratchers game. The ticket was purchased in Anaheim at Big A Liquor on East La Palma Ave.

According to the California Lottery, the Anaheim liquor store also received $100,000 for the scratcher win.

Another player in Anaheim, Daniel Peramaki, won $5 million on a $20 scratcher.

Peramaki told the California Lottery that he is the self-proclaimed "King of Scratchers" and is extremely superstitious when he purchases his scratchers .

"I'm very superstitious. If I scratch them right away, it's a loser. I usually buy them, put them in my pocket, and wait," he said.

Peramaki bought his winning scratcher at Star Liquor on South State College Boulevard in Anaheim. The liquor store also receives a $25,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
