2 Stabbed On 405 Freeway During Argument

Two men were injured in the unusual incident on the San Diego (405) Freeway near National Boulevard.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Authorities responded to reports of two stabbings linked to an argument on the San Diego (405) Freeway Wednesday afternoon.

Few details were released about the incident, which occurred shortly before 3 p.m. near National Boulevard.

"We were called out for a reported stabbing on the 405," said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange. "One ambulance transported from the scene an approximately 53-year-old male."

Just moments later, the fire department was called to respond to a report of another stabbing involving a 26-year-old man at a nearby urgent care on the 11500 block of West Pico Boulevard, said Prange.

A woman told police her husband had been stabbed by a man with a pocketknife and that the attacker also suffered a stab wound during the fight, The Los Angeles Times reported based on information conveyed over police radio. One of the men was in a white truck while the other was in a Toyota Camry, the Times reported.

The Los Angeles Police Department and the California Highway Patrol were both called to respond to the incident, and it wasn't immediately clear which agency was overseeing the investigation, how many people were actually stabbed on the freeway, nor the circumstances leading up to the incident.
