Watch: Man Takes Wheelchair For Spin On 405 Freeway
The California Highway Patrol pulled over the man in the wheelchair after he had amassed a long line of disgruntled drivers behind him.
LOS ANGELES, CA — You're not an Angeleno until you've seen something truly mind-numbing on the San Diego (405) Freeway. On Sunday, thousands of drivers saw just that: a man rolling along the freeway in his wheelchair — a line of honking cars backed up behind him.
The incident occurred shortly after midnight Sunday near Santa Monica Boulevard. The California Highway Patrol pulled over the wheelchair-bound man around the 405 and Santa Monica (10) Freeway interchange, KTLA reported.
By that point, he had amassed a following of screaming and honking drivers behind him. According to the CHP, it is neither legal nor advisable to ride a bicycle, wheelchair nor scooter on the freeway.
