Woman Found Dead On 101 Freeway On-Ramp Identified
The body of a 23-year-old woman was discovered Saturday, prompting the closure of the Hollywood (101) Freeway on-ramp in Chinatown.
LOS ANGELES, CA — A woman whose body was found on the on-ramp to the Hollywood (101) Freeway in the Chinatown area over the weekend was identified by authorities Monday.
Twenty-three-year-old Monika George Awadalla was found dead at about 2 p.m. Saturday at the Alameda Street and Los Angeles Street on-ramp to the northbound side of the freeway according to the California Highway Patrol and the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.
Authorities believe Awadalla was experiencing homelessness when she died. Authorities did not publicly release her cause of death.
