Floating Body Found By Seal Beach Lifeguard

SEAL BEACH, CA — A Seal Beach lifeguard found the body of a man floating in the water off Marina Drive, Thursday, officials reported.

Reports of a body, sighted near the jetty between Alamitos Bay and the mouth of the San Gabriel River, were called in around noon, according to officials.

Lifeguards swam out to the man, and found him deceased, Jake Heflin of the Long Beach Fire Department said. That man's identity has not yet been made known.

"Officers are currently waiting for the coroner to arrive to do a preliminary assessment to determine if foul play is involved," Dandoy said.
