Brush Fire Causes Rush Hour Havoc at 22/405/605 Connectors
A small brushfire near the junction of three freeways is forcing rush hour closures.
A small brush fire is burning near connector road from the eastbound Garden Grove (22) Freeway to the southbound San Diego (405) Freeway and northbound San Gabriel (605) Freeway connector roads in Long Beach, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The fire was reported just after 4 p.m., with the billowing smoke, tying up traffic in the area. As of 5:18 p.m., the southbound 605 to the westbound 22 remained closed while crews worked to contain the blaze.
