Wreck Kills Sibling, Closes 405-605 Freeway Transition

A woman crashed into a concrete barrier, killing her brother, who was a passenger in the car.

SEAL BEACH, CA - A man was killed today in a crash on a freeway transition road in the Seal Beach area, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred on the carpool transition road from the northbound San Diego (405) Freeway to the northbound San Gabriel River (605) Freeway around 6:45 a.m., the CHP reported. According to The Orange County Register, a man in his 50s was ejected when the Mercedes-Benz driven by his sister slammed into the center divider. The man was killed instantly.

Paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene. The transition road was closed while an investigation was carried out.
