Garden Grove Fatal Hit And Run, Driver Sought
A 22-year-old was fatally struck late Thursday and knocked into oncoming traffic, and a car that drove off, witnesses said.

GARDEN GROVE, CA āPolice are attempting to piece together what happened to a man fatally injured while crossing the street not in a crosswalk in Garden Grove.
One driver hit a pedestrian into oncoming traffic, then struck by another vehicle that fled, police say. The 22-year-old, not yet identified, was crossing the street outside of a crosswalk at the time of the first collision, Garden Grove Police Lt. Carl Whitney said.
The incident occurred at Brookhurst Street and Crosby Avenue when the pedestrian was "knocked into the other lane of traffic" by a Chevy Tahoe. There, a dark-colored sedan struck the man, then drove off.
The Tahoe's driver, however, stayed on scene and tried to help the victim, the lieutenant said. That motorist was fully cooperative with investigators. The Tahoe driver was not impaired in any way, Whitney said.
Anyone who saw the incident or has any details on the hit-and-run vehicle were asked to call investigator Paul Ashby at (714) 741-5823.
