Seal Beach Police Seek Man Who Tried to Lure Girl into Truck

Police are asking for help identifying a man who approached a girl in Old Town Seal Beach and asked her to get into his truck.

Seal Beach, CA - Seal Beach Police are asking for help identifying a suspicious man who attempted to lure a girl into his car.

The incident happened at approximately 2:45 P.M on April 15 on the 200 block of 16th Street.

ā€œA male subject approached a female juvenile on foot as she walked to her residence on the 200 block of 16th Street,ā€ Seal Beach Police Department Sgt. Michael Henderson said in an email. ā€œThe juvenile observed the suspect standing near a retaining wall, and as she drew closer he asked if she wanted to check out his new car and get into it. The subject was not standing near a vehicle, did not appear to have keys in hand, and did not motion toward any vehicle.ā€

The girl turned around and headed to a neighboring house. She told police the man seemed to be following her before turning into an alley and getting into a gold, newer model, 2-door, Chevrolet truck parked near her house.

According to police the man is, 5 feet 7 inches tall with a medium build, short black hair, a black mustache and a beard. He was wearing plain green t-shirt, navy blue sweatpants, and a silver wristwatch on his left wrist. He was carrying a clear purple reusable water bottle.
