Senior Care Hero Awards Nominations Open

Nominations are open for a variety of categories in the senior care industry through August

The 6th annual Senior Care Hero Awards, considered the largest senior care recognition program in the county, seeks nominations in recognition of the senior industry’s unsung heroes while serving as the sole fundraiser for SeniorServ, Orange County’s largest nonprofit senior nutrition Meals on Wheels provider.

The black-tie awards gala will be held Saturday, October 15 at The City National Grove of Anaheim. Last year's event drew 700 guests and recognized over 80 outstanding senior care industry and community advocates.

Nominations and voting are open to the community through August 31st in several categories. People’s Choice Hero categories include Veteran, Senior, Family Member and Volunteer and Senior Care industry categories are Outstanding Caregiver, Social Worker, Nurse, Physician, Executive Director, and Senior Care Professional.

An Inspiring Senior Video Award seeks short video entries of extraordinary seniors. Both the winning videographer and senior represented in the video will receive a cash award of $1000.

While all categories are open to voting by the general public to establish finalists, and the People’s Choice Hero awards are selected by popular vote, industry and video award recipients are chosen by an Academy of Leaders comprised of highly-regarded leaders in the field of senior care. All nominees and winners will be recognized at the October 15 awards program which includes auctions, dinner and live entertainment.

This year’s guest host is Emmy-award winning broadcaster Patrice King Brown. Event chair is senior advocate, gerontologist and founder and CEO of Dupont Residential Care, Inc., and Assured In-Home Care, Inc., Jacqueline Dupont and vice-chair is Pat Bridges, Regional VP Care Integration at St. Joseph Heritage Healthcare.
