5 Things You Need to Know Today, July 21

1. The Los Gatos Shakespeare Festival continues its second weekend performance at 8 p.m. Friday, July 22, at Oak Meadow Park, 333 Blossom Hill Rd. The Festival Theatre Ensemble will perform the non-Shakespearean Charley's Aunt comedy, the Tragedy of Macbeth and Twelfth Night. Performances end at around 9:30 p.m., so the public is asked to take blankets or jackets to stay warm and be comfortable. 2. of Los Gatos has its meeting today at noon, Thursday, July 21, at the Los Gatos Lodge, 50 Los Gatos-Saratoga Road. The public is invited to attend. Lunch is $15 per person. Details: 408-395-4051 or MarLyn.Rasmussen@verizon.net.
3. A fundraiser is being organized on behalf of Los Gatos bicyclist who was critically injured May 25 at the intersection of Wheeler Avenue and Los Gatos Boulevard. Tickets to the 5 p.m., Monday, July 25 event at, 565 University Ave., are $75 per person. $30 of each ticket will go the Saghari family to help pay for Bahram's medical expenses. Admission includes bocce ball, buffet dinner and raffle prizes. The public is encouraged to purchase tickets by midnight July 24 to give Campo di Bocce an estimate of how many people will be attending the fundraiser. Details: Tim DuClos, 408-497-9052.

4. Get your tickets for the nonprofit Los Gatos Music & Arts' gala fundraiser "Moonlight Over Memphis" 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 26 at La Estancia Estate, 18000 Overlook Road, featuring Jazz artist Barbara Morrison. The event will also feature food and fine wine and your tax-deductible tickets benefits Los Gatos Music & Arts, town educational and cultural programs and Jazz on the Plazz.
5. Bay Area kindie rocker Andy Z, one of the most popular children’s musicians in the Bay Area, will entertain town children at 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 22 on the Civic Center Lawn, 110 E. Main St. The event is sponsored by the Los Gatos Public Library. Details: 354-6893 or hlong@losgatosca.gov.
