Los Gatos Students To Bring Holiday Spirit To Local Seniors
Students from two Los Gatos schools will send dozens of handwritten cards and artwork to residents of a local senior living facility.
LOS GATOS, CA — Students from two Los Gatos schools will bring the holiday spirit to residents of a local senior living community next week.
Students from Louise Van Meter Elementary School and St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception will send dozens of handwritten cards with words of encouragement and share artwork that will be delivered to residents of the The Terraces of Los Gatos senior living community.
“This year has impacted all of us in one way or another, but older adults have certainly had to take greater precautions,” said Sandra Mirasol, TLG’s director of resident services.

“This gesture from students at Louise Van Meter and St. Mary will be so appreciated by residents. It will remind them they continue to be in the thoughts of the greater Los Gatos community, especially during the holidays.”
Students with Louise Van Meter’s Home & School club are also encouraging TLG residents to safely visit their community garden project.

Outside the school, a light-up heart is on display, complete with plants that students have grown in recycled containers attached to the trellis.
“In a year where many residents haven’t had the same opportunities to socialize, volunteer or visit with friends and family, this effort by local students will surely bring plenty of smiles,” said Bradley Burgoyne, TLG’s executive director.
“We’re honored they thought of us, and to be part of such a supportive community.”
