Roof Burned In Monte Sereno House Fire That Displaced 5
The blaze was in the early morning hours Tuesday on Los Gatos Saratoga Road.

A two-alarm fire displaced five people from their Monte Sereno home where the roof fell apart early this morning, a Santa Clara County fire spokeswoman said.
The blaze was reported in the 18000 block of Los Gatos Saratoga Road around 2:30 a.m., fire spokeswoman Stephanie Stuehler said. Firefighters arrived to find heavy fire coming from the upper floor of the two-story home, county fire Battalion Chief Dennis Lollie said.
The home’s occupants were already outside of the 3,000-square-foot building when firefighters reached the scene, he said.

The fire was difficult to put out because the roof collapsed in portions and small pockets of fire were found throughout the house, Lollie said.
The blaze was knocked down around 7 a.m., according to Stuehler. Four of the five adult residents were at the home at the time of the fire, Lollie said.

All five residents received assistance from the American Red Cross, he said.
Firefighters were able to access the first floor once the blaze was out, but they have not been able to enter the second floor because it sustained significant damage that is dangerous for people to enter, Lollie said.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
