Authorities Save South Bay Woman From Apparent Attempted Suicide

The woman was walking into freeway traffic on the onramp to the Harbor Freeway, apparently trying to get hit by one of the vehicles.

GARDENA, CA - Authorities managed to stop a woman from committing suicide Saturday night after she began walking into freeway traffic on an onramp to the southbound Harbor (110) Freeway in Gardena, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The drama on the Rosecrans Avenue onramp to the southbound 110 Freeway began about 10:20 p.m., according to CHP Officer Patrick Kimball.

The unidentified woman began walking into freeway traffic, apparently trying to get hit by one of the vehicles, according to the CHP.

The woman was taken to Memorial Hospital of Gardena by Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics, Kimball said.

The woman was not injured before she was taken into custody.
