El Segundo Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash in Hawthorne

For unknown reasons, the man lost control of his bike and struck the concrete half wall of the connector road from the 405 freeway to I-105.

HAWTHORNE, CA - A motorcyclist speeding on a 2016 Harley-Davidson motorcycle was killed in a single-vehicle crash on a freeway connector road in Hawthorne, the California Highway Patrol said Sunday.

The crash occurred at 11:55 p.m. Saturday on the connector road from the southbound San Diego (405) Freeway to the westbound Glen Anderson (105) Freeway, the CHP reported.

For unknown reasons, the motorcyclist lost control of his bike and struck the concrete half wall that borders the connector road.

The rider was ejected from the bike and landed in a parking lot at 11222 La Cienega Blvd.

The motorcyclist, a 38-year-old resident of El Segundo, was pronounced dead at the scene.
