South Bay Man Charged for Allegedly Driving Drunk, Causing Fatal Crash

Brandon Bradley, 24, of Hawthorne, is accused of driving under the influencing and causing the crash that killed a Los Angeles woman.

COMPTON (CNS) - A man accused of driving while drunk and killing a 25- year-old Los Angeles woman in Willowbrook was charged Monday with gross vehicular manslaughter.

Brandon Bradley, 24, of Hawthorne, is also facing one count each of driving under the influence causing injury and driving with a .08 percent blood alcohol content.

Bradley was driving a 2013 Ford Fusion westbound on the Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway east of Central Avenue around 2:15 a.m. when his car hit a Toyota that was stopped in the carpool lane, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The impact killed Karen Salazar, who was in the 2007 Toyota Yaris, the CHP reported.

Salazar had also been driving westbound when her car veered from the far left lane into the right shoulder wall, then traveled across all lanes into the concrete center divider, according to the CHP.

Bradley was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and taken to Gardena Memorial Hospital for chemical testing, the CHP reported.

Bradley was scheduled to be arraigned in Compton on Monday.
