Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Police Car Amid Fog
An LAPD Bomb Squad member struck a pedestrian in Del Rey while driving home from a late night shift.

A pedestrian was struck and killed today by an on- duty LAPD Bomb Squad officer in an official vehicle in the Del Rey area of West Los Angeles, authorities said.
The accident occurred in the 13600 block of Culver Boulevard at 12:11 a.m., said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
“It has been extremely foggy,” said Sgt. Elizabeth Ellis of the LAPD’s West Traffic Division, adding the fog could have been a factor in the accident.
