Contra Costa Man Arrested After Child, 9, Reports Sexual Abuse In Solano County

BREAKING: The 53-year-old suspect's bail is set at $1.5 million.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA – Officers arrested a 53-year-old Contra Costa County man Thursday after a 9-year-old reported being sexually abused in Suisun City, police said.

Officers with the Suisun City Police Department began an investigation after receiving information about the alleged abuse, according to police.

"Due to the age of the victim, (the) School Resource Officer conducted the investigation," the Suisun City Police Department said.

The school officer held the child-forensic interview in conjunction with the Solano County Family Justice Center and the Solano County District Attorney's Office. During the interview, the victim verified that they had been sexually abused, police said.

After identifying the suspect, officers obtained a search warrant and arrested, without incident, John Logsdon near his home in unincorporated Contra Costa County.

Logsdon was arrested on suspicion of attempted sexual intercourse or sodomy with a child 10 years old and younger, oral copulation or sexual penetration with a child 10 years old and younger, lewd or lascivious acts
with a child under 14, according to police.

Logsdon was then booked into the Solano County Jail, and his bail was set at $1.5 million, police said.
