Victim Of Fatal Pittsburg Highway Crash Is Named
A man who died this weekend when he lost control while making a turn on a Pittsburg highway and hit a tree has been identified.

PITTSBURG - A man who died this weekend when he lost control while making a turn on a Pittsburg highway and hit a tree has been identified by the Contra Costa County coroner's office as 47-year-old Antonio Bermudez.
The Antioch man was involved in a crash along state Highway 4 just west of Loveridge Road. The crash was reported to the California Highway Patrol at 4:06 p.m. Sunday.
Witnesses told CHP officers that the man's Nissan truck was speeding on the highway's eastbound lanes when it veered across the highway during an attempted turn.

The truck traveled into the highway's right shoulder, where it hit a curb and flipped several times before striking a tree. Bermudez, who suffered massive trauma, died at the scene.

After the crash, CHP officials said they had not determined if drugs or alcohol were factors.
CHP officials were not immediately available Tuesday to provide an update on the crash investigation.
