Menlo Park Library to Hold First Storytelling Festival
Professional storytellers & others to share tales at free event on September 18
The Menlo Park Library is planning its first-ever Storytelling Festival. The event is set for Sunday, September 18, and will feature professional tellers as well as amateur story lovers, sharing tales for adults & youth alike.
The library has been hosting storytellers for some time, in performances for adult or family audiences, but this is its first foray into putting together an assembly of tellers sharing their joy of the oral tradition.
Professional storytellers on the schedule include Olga Loya, Tom & Sandy Farley, Joy Swift, Laurie Pines, and John Weaver.
The Menlo Park Library’s Storytelling Festival will take place from 1:00 until 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 18 at the Menlo Park Main Library, located at 800 Alma Street. The event is free, and no preregistration is necessary to attend. For more information, visit the Menlo Park Library online at menlopark.org/library, or phone 650-330-2501.
