Public welcome to a family-friendly guided hike in Huddart Park

Family Hike at Huddart Park, Sun., July 17, 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

This hike, sponsored by Friends of Huddart & Wunderlich Parks, is designed for families with children five years of age and older and is not suitable for jogging strollers. We will connect the Chickadee and Redwood nature trails for a distance of about 2 miles. Along the way, we will be on the lookout for lizards, banana slugs, turret spider nests, woodrat nests, giant redwood trees, and rattlesnake grass. Huddart is a great place to learn about the basics of the mixed redwood forest.
The hike will take about two hours. Wear closed-toe shoes. Bring water. We will meet at 2 p.m. at the parking lot just inside the park entrance kiosk. There is a $6 parking fee.
