The Menlo School girls’ soccer team soared in the second half and shut out host Notre Dame-San Jose 4-0 in a West Bay Athletic League opener Thursday.
The Knights (3-2-2 overall) struck midway through the first half. Sophomore Chandler Wickers scored from 15 yards out off a cross from junior Priya Medberry.
The rest came in the second half. Sophomore Jaye Boissiere volleyed in a cross from sophomore Sienna Stritter. Next, junior Sophie Sheeline headed in a cross from Boissiere that sophomore Lindsay Karle flicked onto Sheeline. Finally, Medberry scored from 15 yards out off a cross from Sheeline.

Menlo outshot NDSJ 18-6. Juniors Julia Dressel (two saves) and Kelly McConnell (four saves) combined on the shutout. Seniors Shannon Lacy and Alex Tom led the Menlo defense.
The Knights next play Jan. 9 at 4:30 p.m. at Gunn.
