The Smithsonian is a repository of America’s history, holding its legendary art and artifacts, scientific specimens and technological wonders. Come and take a virtual pilgrimage to the Smithsonian with its Historical Under Secretary, Dr. Richard Kurin. This lecture series has something for everyone: The Hope Diamond * Julia Child’s Kitchen * Abraham Lincoln’s hat * the Bell telephone * Apollo 8 spacesuit glove * Generals Lee and Grant’s chairs. You will get an up-close look at more than a dozen original items as Dr. Kurin brings to life our nation’s history. Along with history, you get a behind-the-scenes look at the work of curators who are preserving our heritage. This is a series you won’t want to miss.
