Taylor Middle School Open House Fun For All

A warm spring evening brought out a record crowd to Taylor Middle School's Open House Thursday night.  Current students showed off their classrooms to their parents.  Older siblings said hello to favorite teachers and hugged former classmates.  Future students,  now fifth-graders, came to get a preview of sixth grade and tour the campus.

All classrooms were decorated with projects and artwork.  My personal favorite was Ms. Fiore's 8th grade  science class where students performed experiments and demonstrations that were really amazing.  Second runner up was Mrs. Newiger's 7th grade science classroom with DNA made out of beads and pipe cleaners hanging from the fluorescent lights.  And of course Mr. Ewing's 6th grade classroom was full of pyramids and ziggurats (if you're not sure what a ziggurat is, ask a 6th grader).

It was great to see so many parents chatting and reminiscing. We even ran into Millbrae School Board President Jay Price in B hall. Our kids have grown so much since September.  It is hard to believe this school year is almost over.

Thanks to  all the teachers and  students, the Millbrae Education Foundation, PTA, Assistant Principal Angela Toy and Principal Leslie Martin for another great year at Taylor.
