Millbrae Halloween Decorating Contest Offers Spooky Fun, Prizes

MILLBRAE, CA — Millbrae residents can turn their homes into Halloween attractions and compete for gift card prizes as the city's Halloween House Decoration Contest returns.

The contest gives residents two ways to participate: nominate a decorated home or create their own display for neighbors to nominate, according to a city announcement.

Residents can submit photos of decorated homes, balconies or yards for a chance to win a $100 gift card to a local Millbrae business of their choice.

Homeowners whose displays are voted among the city's top three will each receive a $50 gift card to a local business.

The contest is open to a variety of decorations, meaning residents do not need a large front yard to participate. Balcony decorations and smaller yard displays are also eligible.

City officials are encouraging residents to explore their neighborhoods, check out Halloween decorations and nominate their favorite displays.

Participants can also share photos on Instagram or Facebook and tag @CityofMillbrae. Residents who nominate a home can receive an additional contest entry by tagging the city, while homeowners can use the tag to showcase their decorations.

Nominations must be emailed to contest@ci.millbrae.ca.us by midnight on Nov. 2.

Residents with questions about the contest can contact the city at the same email address.
