Millbrae General Election Voter Timeline
Pursuant to Executive Order N-64-20, all registered voters will be sent a vote-by-mail ballot for the November 3, 2020, General Election.

Election season is well underway. This timeline will help local voters understand their voting options and specific dates that they need to be aware of to ensure their vote counts.

October 6, 2020 – Vote-by-Mail Ballots Sent Out
Vote-by-mail ballots were mailed to local voters who have registered to vote-by-mail. Mail-in ballots can be mailed back to the San Mateo County Elections Office of placed in an official ballot drop box. If you mail your ballot in, please make sure it is post stamped by November 3, 2020. An official ballot drop box is located in front of City Hall (621 Magnolia Ave.)

October 13, 2020 – Vote-by-Mail Ballots Received
Pursuant to Executive Order N-64-20, all registered voters will be sent a vote-by-mail ballot for the November 3, 2020, General Election. Registered voters do not have to apply for a vote-by-mail ballot for this election.
Instead of going to the polls on Election Day, you may vote using the vote-by-mail ballot that will be sent to you.
If you do not receive your vote-by-mail ballot three weeks before Election Day (Tuesday, October 13th), or if you make a mistake on your ballot, you may contact the San Mateo County Registration & Elections Office by phone at (650) 312-5222 or by email at registrar@smcacre.org.
October 19, 2020 – Voter Registration Closes
Voter registration closes on October 19th. People who wish to vote by mail must submit their forms prior to or on this date to be accepted. If you are registering or re-registering less than 15 days before an election you will need to complete the Same-Day Voter Registration process and request your ballot in person at your polling location. Registration can be done online through the Secretary of State’s website at https://registertovote.ca.gov/.
San Mateo County voters who vote-by-mail can get automatic updates on the status of their ballots by signing up at WheresMyBallot.sos.ca.gov.
October 31, 2020 – Millbrae Vote Center Opens
In-person voting is available at the Millbrae Vote Center inside the Millbrae Community Center (623 Magnolia Ave.) from October 31st to November 2nd, from 9 am to 5 pm each day. On Election Day (November 3rd), the Vote Center will be open from 7 am to 8 pm.
November 1, 2020 – Curbside Ballot Drop Off Available
In an effort to make voting accessible to all people, the Millbrae Voting Center will offer curbside voting in front of the Millbrae Community Center (623 Magnolia Ave.). There is no need to park. You just have to drive-by and drop off your mail-in ballot in the curbside ballot box.
Curbside voting will be available on:
Sunday, November 1st, from 9 am to 5 pm
Monday, November 2nd from 9 am to 5 pm
Tuesday, November 3rd, from 7 am to 8 pm
November 3, 2020 – General Election
There are several ways to vote in Millbrae on the day of the General Election:
Vote-by-Mail Ballot – Please ensure your ballot is post stamped by November 3, 2020, if you are submitting your ballot by mail.
Election Drop Box in Front of City Hall (621 Magnolia Ave.) – The secure drop box will be open on Election Day until 8 pm.
Millbrae Vote Center – In-person voting is available at the Millbrae Vote Center inside the Millbrae Community Center (623 Magnolia Ave.) on Election Day (November 3rd) from 7 am to 8 pm.
Curbside Voting – The Millbrae Voting Center will offer curbside voting in front of the Millbrae Community Center (623 Magnolia Ave.). There is no need to park.
