Airbnb Hosts Welcome Fire Evacuees For Free

Airbnb's Disaster Response and Relief program is allowing hosts in San Francisco and parts of Marin and Alameda counties to help evacuees.

BAY AREA, CA – The San Francisco-based short-term rental company Airbnb is allowing some Bay Area residents to make their houses available for free to people displaced by the wildfires in the North Bay today.

Airbnb's Disaster Response and Relief program is allowing hosts in San Francisco and parts of Marin and Alameda counties to make spaces available to people displaced by the Tubbs and Atlas fires in Napa and Sonoma counties, or to relief workers responding to the blazes, according to the company.

The program will run through Oct. 30, and hosts or displaced residents looking for temporary housing can both sign up at https://www.airbnb.com/welcome/evacuees/northerncaliforniafireevacuees.

As of 9:20 p.m. Monday, 16 people had signed up to host fire evacuees for free.
