📰 News we're reading

• S.F. just set a new October high tide record — by a wide margin (newsbreak.com) — Exceptionally high tides on Saturday flooded the northbound Highway 101 off-ramp and a Park and Ride in Mill Valley, briefly trapping at least one vehicle and disrupting local traffic. The surge, driven by El Niño and long-term sea level rise, set a new October tide record in San Francisco and triggered coastal flood advisories that could foreshadow more severe king tides this winter.

• Interview: Beth de Araújo and Mason Reeves on Their Working Relationship and the Hurdles of Shooting 'Josephine' (awardswatch.com) — Mill Valley takes a starring role as the setting for an in-depth interview with filmmaker Beth de Araújo during the 49th Mill Valley Film Festival, where she received two awards for her film "Josephine." She and young lead actor Mason Reeves discuss shooting in the Bay Area, handling the story's heavy themes on set, and how their close working relationship shaped the film's emotional power.
