Arrest Made In Mill Valley Bicycle Theft

MILL VALLEY, CA – A man was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of stealing a bicycle in Mill Valley.

A bicycle was reported stolen around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday from Tamalpais High School, according to the Mill Valley Police Department. Police obtained information from witnesses on campus, as well as from the Central Marin Police Authority, that helped develop suspect information. That information was broadcast to outside local agencies.

Later that evening, deputies from the Marin County Sheriff's Office found a man that matched the description in San Rafael. He had the bike that had been reported stolen earlier in the day, officials said. Mill Valley police responded to the scene and arrested Travis White, of Sausalito, for possession of stolen property and theft, police said. He was booked into Marin County Jail.

The Mill Valley Police Department is currently investigating to see if White is tied to other similar bicycle thefts from the area.
