Vehicle Hits Hydrant On Shoreline Highway In Marin County

BREAKING: The accident happened at Tam Junction on Shoreline Highway, according to the Marin County Sheriff's Department.

MARIN COUNTY, CA – A vehicle struck a fire hydrant on Shoreline Highway in Marin County Tuesday afternoon, spewing a stream of water into the sky and onto the road, authorities reported.

The accident happened at Tam Junction on Shoreline Highway, just south of Mill Valley, according to the Marin County Sheriff's Office. The damaged hydrant was in the 200 block of Shoreline Highway, according to the Southern Marin Fire Protection District, which reported the incident on Twitter just after 4:30 p.m.

Southern Marin Fire Protection District, Mill Valley Fire Department and Marin County Fire Department responded to the scene, reporting that the water stream was visible from Highway 101. Crews were attempting to stop the flow of water, which flooded a nearby business and vehicles, according to fire officials.
