Crews Stop Gas Leak In Marin County
A natural gas leak forced evacuations for some homes and a shelter-in-place order for others Thursday afternoon in Tiburon, officials said.

TIBURON, CA – A natural gas leak forced evacuations for some homes and a shelter-in-place order for others Thursday afternoon in Tiburon, according to the Tiburon Fire Protection District.
Pacific Gas and Electric Company was notified around 2 p.m. that a gas line had been ruptured in the 100 block of Sugarloaf Drive, said PG&E spokeswoman Deanna Contreras. Crews safely stopped the flow of gas by 5:17 p.m. A construction crew not affiliated with PG&E struck the gas line.
Roughly 35 customers have been impacted by the temporary service outage, Contreras said. She reminded the public to call 811 or visit 811express.com before starting any construction or digging project.
