New Pipeline Being Installed In Mill Valley

The new water pipeline will replace leak-prone pipe installed as early as 1948, according to Marin Municipal Water District.

MILL VALLEY, CA – Marin Municipal Water District is installing and replacing pipeline in Mill Valley.

New pipeline is being installed on Stanford, Princeton Cleveland and California avenues in Mill Valley's Almonte Community. The project also includes the replacement of pipeline on Lomita Drive in the Alto community.

The new water pipeline will replace leak-prone pipe installed as early as 1948, according to MMWD. The new pipeline will also be better able to withstand an earthquake and improve fire flow capacity.

The project is expected to be completed in April 2018.

"MMWD and the contractor, Piazza Construction, will take all measures possible to minimize inconveniences associated with this project, including noise and traffic delays," MMWD officials said in a press release.
